AT HACIENDA BARU, A PRIVATELY OWNED NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM A NUMBER OF TOURS AND HIKES.

1. Flight of the Toucan- Zipline Canopy Tour: $35
You'll fly like a toucan from ridge-top cables especially designed to show you the delights of tropical nature. There are eight cables with spans from 20 meters to 91 meters. You will reach speeds of up to 35 kph between the 15 different take off and landing platforms, some on the ground and some in the trees. There is some light hiking involved and you will experience an abundance of wildlife along the way. A great tour for all ages.

2. Canopy Observation Platform: $35
During this 2-3 hour tour, you will ascend over 105 feet to a platform suspended in the canopy of a magnificent tree. The views are amazing.

3. Tree Climbing: $35 ( $55 in combination with the Flight of the Toucan Tour )
For the more adventurous, this half-day tour includes instruction in basic climbing and safety techniques.Tour is 2 to 3 hours.

4. The Rainforest Experience: $25
A full day natural history tour that is great for birding. Departure is at 7:30 AM and return is usually around 3:30 PM. Lunch is served at a tent camp. Tour is 3 to 4 hours.

5. Mangrove and beach walk: $ 20 Tour is 2 to 3 hours.

6. Self Guided Trails: $6

7. Bird Watching Tours: Rainforest or Lowland Bird Watching. $35 Tour is 6 to 7 hours. Includes Breakfast.
